Modkid Leilani Romper

Even though it’s cold here (well getting cold), I still wanted to make the new Leilani romper / dress / top from Modkid because I fell instantly in love with its fun and funky style.

This was my second time sewing a Modkid pattern and I really like the fit and the draft of the pattern. The instructions, especially for the binding was impressive with clear notch markings to ensure the straps fits perfectly and evenly. This is important since a key feature of the romper is the double strap.

Another thing I like about this pattern is that it’s versatile and you can go from a romper, to a swing dress or top and of course no pattern is complete (especially for my little miss) unless it has POCKETS!!!

I’m so glad I bought some of this beautiful Bird Songs Knit by Katarina Roccella for Art Gallery fabrics from the lovely Katie over at Sems fabric. The fabric was perfect for this style being a bit lighter and drapier weight cotton lycra.  We so can’t wait for summer to wear more of this and even add a few more to the wardrobe!

I’m planning on making myself a romper too since the pattern not only comes in the Girls sizes (2T – 8/9) but also a Tween/Teen option in sizes (10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 (junior sizing) and the sizes 14, 16 and 18 are equivalent to a women’s XS, S and M in the width!! Score!!!! (smiley face)

To celebrate the release of the pattern, Modkid is offering a special 40% off with the Coupon code = LEILANI2017 for 24hrs (The code expires tomorrow at noon EST). So hurry otherwise you might miss it!!!

Thank you for reading and I hope you love the romper as much as I do.

xx
